The Pella Christian Eagles softball team swept cross-town and Little Hawkeye Conference rival Pella Lady Dutch in a double header on June 17. The Eagles took game one 9-4 and game two 7-5.

In game one, the Eagles amassed 15 hits – including seven for extra bases. Chloe Morgan went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Natalie Harrill and Cheyanne Collins each had two doubles in the game; Emri Agre and Bailey Roose each had a two-bagger as well. Anna Bonnett added a triple.

For the Lady Dutch, Ava Curry had a double and two RBI. Kylie Tauke scored two of the Lady Dutch’s runs.

In game two, the Lady Dutch had a 5-1 lead going into the sixth inning. This was thanks to a big second inning. The Eagles responded with a three-run sixth, then tying the game at five in the seventh to force an extra inning. In the top of the eighth, the Eagles got two across to get the victory.

Roose, Morgan, Agre and Sierra Pleima each had two hits for Pella Christian. Only two Eagle batters struck out. Collins recorded four more strikeouts in game two.

Brynnlin Kroymann went 3-for-4 for Lady Dutch with a run scored. Curry and Ella Corbin each had a double.
