Prison inmate Thomas Daleske dies

FORT DODGE – Thomas Andrew Daleske, age 59, was found dead in his cell at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at approximately 5:15 p.m.

At the department’s request, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is leading an investigation into the death, and the State Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The DCI and DOC are working with the Webster County Attorney on any pending criminal charges.

Daleske had been serving a 45-year maximum sentence for multiple charges related to Sexual Abuse and Lascivious Acts with a Child from Warren County. His incarceration began on October 31, 2000.

Whenever the death of an inmate occurs, the department makes it a priority to notify both the family of the deceased and the victims of their crimes prior to releasing the information to the public.
