A special meeting of the Pleasantville School Board will be held June 23 at 3 p.m. for the purpose of refinancing existing SAVE bonds.
Superintendent Tony Aylsworth says the refinancing is expected to save the district at least $100,000.
The board was also happy to receive a donation from Delta Dental for a new water bottle filling station.
Some of the projects yet to be completed this summer include a new preschool playground. Each year, the Department of Education audits playground equipment and the change was required because the current items were not in compliance.
The district is also doing some brick repair on the south side of the high school, near the events center. There is also roof repair being done. All of these projects are being done sooner than originally planned.
Teachers continue to work on their return to learn plans, including one that is entirely online, one mixture and one entirely face-to-face. The priority for staff members is to do what is best for the children and getting life back on track.
Pleasantville High School will hold a graduation on Sunday, June 28, at 2 p.m.
