The Marion County Board of Supervisors will hold two meetings on Tuesday, June 9.

The first will be at 9 a.m., the board’s regular meeting. On the agenda are final actions to move the Prairie Ridge housing project forward. This is a joint effort among the County, the City of Pella and PR Development.

The board will also set a public hearing date to transfer land to the Marion County Fair Board. Supervisor Mark Raymie says this is land the fair board is already utilizing that has never been officially transferred to the other board.

A budget amendment for FY 2019-20, which ends June 30, is also on the agenda. The amount of the amendment will be larger than usual, as the County has moving costs due to the courthouse elevator project, as well as expenses related to obtaining the former VA campus in Knoxville.

Related to the VA campus, the supervisors will hold a joint meeting with the Knoxville City Council at 5 p.m. Raymie explains that this is to provide an update regarding the master plan for the campus to ensure that the City and County are on the same page. More joint meetings between the council and board can be expected through this process.
