Marion County will reduce the number of reports it releases regarding COVID-19 to two. Releases will come Monday and Thursday at 1 p.m.
Currently, the county has six active cases of COVID-19. There have been 45 people in the county diagnosed with the virus and 39 of them have recovered.
If this situation becomes more concerning and there is a need to increase releases the county will do so at that time. In the past 24 hours the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 307 new additional positive cases today for a total of 21,918 positive cases. There were 7 additional deaths reported today to IDPH for a total of 609 deaths. There are 265 patients currently hospitalized and 12,916 patients have recovered. There has been a total of 192,950 total individual tests conducted in Iowa. There are currently 40 Long Term Care Facility outbreaks in the state of Iowa.
