Recently, we sat down with Pleasantville City Manager Joe Mrstik to get the latest on what’s new with the City. Here’s what we learned.
– There is one more section of Jasper Street that requires paving, as well as driveways and street approaches. Mrstik reports that the project is nearly complete, and anticipates that it will be done in three weeks. He is thankful for the way local residents – especially those who live along Jasper – have adapted around the nearly two-year project.
– The City Park is basically fully open once again, as is City Hall. A plexiglass barrier has been installed at City Hall to protect residents and staff.
– The pet license amnesty continues. Residents can get free dog tags at City Hall by bringing in the animal’s shot records. The tags help law enforcement and the Marion County Humane Society find the animal’s owner if it gets loose.
