The Knoxville School Board is expected to consider the purchase of 200 iPads, cases and headphones – as well as 25 new charging stations – for West Elementary students at the board’s Monday, June 8, meeting.

Estimated cost of this equipment is $77.782.25. The equipment is sought to provide each student in grades K-2 an iPad. Staff believes that this will make learning more equitable. A need for such equipment was identified when the COVID-19 pandemic shortened the in-classroom school year.

The board will also consider the bids in the $26 million bond sale for the new Middle School. The full agenda can be found here. The meeting will be held at the Administration Office at 309 West Main at 5:30 p.m. A Zoom link is also available.
