The State Medical Examiner has confirmed that the cause of Tracy Mondabough’s death was from stab wounds.
Mondabough, of Ottumwa, was stabbed in Pella on May 18. Michelle Lee Boat, age 55 of Pella, is accused of her murder.
Adam DeCamp with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed to the Tribune that the cause of Mondabough’s death was “multiple sharp force trauma” or stabbing. Injuries to Mondabough’s hands were consistent with defense wounds sustained during the attack.
Boat has secured representation from the Special Defense Unit. She waived her preliminary hearing. No further court date has been set.
