Pella bowling takes part in substate tournament

The Pella boys’ and girls’ bowling teams traveled to Ottumwa on Tuesday to take part in a substate bowling tournament. The Dutch girls finished in fifth place and the boys in sixth.

The girls bowled 1,927. Sydney Stursma had the 12th-best individual game among the female tournament participants. The girls, as a team, also bowled the second high game in program history (181), as well as the fifth high individual round series (313). Girls also posted a new fourth high baker game (175) and second high baker round (692).

The boys bowled 2,497. Reid Miller bowled a 374 and Matt De Jong 337.
