Pella wrestlers shine at Williamsburg

The Pella High varsity wrestling team took part in the Williamsburg Round Robin Tournament on Jan. 25.

Ryan Hancock (22-2) set the tempo for the Dutch, winning the 113 title and scoring 24 team points. Hancock pinned his opponents in the first four rounds before taking the title from Cole Nelson of Perry in a 6-3 decision.

Braydon Peterson (14-10) placed second at 285. He was pinned in 3:56 by Cole Cremeens of Williamsburg, who has a record of 33-4, in the championship match. Peterson scored 14 team points.

Third place winners for the Dutch included Peyton Ritzert at 120, CJ Smith at 195 and Kody Huisman at 220. Tyson Mick placed fourth at 126, Quinn Rhamy placed fourth at 132, Ryan Van Donselaar placed fourth at 145, Nathan Born placed fourth at 152, Braden Schulte placed fourth at 182.

Blake Darnell placed fifth at 170, Dylan Parsons placed sixth at 138, Ethan Milligan placed sixth at 160 and Jordan De Ruiter placed sixth at 220.
