The Twin Cedars Lady Sabers are 1-7 this season, following a 32-19 loss at home to Moravia Tuesday night.

This was Twin Cedars’ Coaches vs. Cancer event. In the first quarter, Chloe Swank had the Lady Sabers’ only points with a nice layup. Moravia’s defense did not provide Twin Cedars many opportunities to shoot. When shots were taken, they bounced around the rim.

Moravia began making mental errors that slowed them down while the Saber defense held the Mohawks to just four points while the TC offense put six on the board. Moravia held a 14-8 lead at halftime.

Aggression from both sides increased in the third, as did the fouls. Twin Cedars had eight in the quarter and Moravia seven. Moravia never surrendered the lead and were up 22-13 at the end of three.

The Lady Sabers could not get much more offense going in the fourth quarter. Swank finished with 11 points in the game, Brooke Roby six and Kaya DesPlanque two.

Twin Cedars is set to play at Melcher-Dallas Friday night to end the 2019 portion of this season. The next game following that will be Jan. 4 at Wells Fargo Arena against Interstate 35.
