Twin Cedars played a key Bluegrass Conference rival on the road Tuesday night, but fell short 50-31.

After falling behind 6-4 after the first quarter, business picked up in the second. However, Wayne scored 17 to the Sabers’ 12.

“Our bench sparked us at the end of the first half to bring it within 10,” Head Coach Trent Verwers said. “At the end of the day, their posts killed us down low and gave up too many offensive rebounds.”

Wayne outscored Twin Cedars 27-15 in the second half.

Brooke Roby led the Sabers with eight points, followed by Chloe Swank with seven and Cheyanne Bruns with six. The Sabers travel to Murray Friday night, Dec. 6.
