North Polk bests Pella girls

The Pella High varsity girls’ basketball team is 1-1 on the season now, after falling at North Polk Tuesday night by a score of 61-34.

The Lady Dutch’s trouble began in the first, when they were outscored 16-4. The second quarter was tighter, as Pella was only outscored by a point. After the break, North Polk again lit up the scoreboard by adding 23 points to their 27-14 lead. Pella managed 20 points in the second half.

Bailey Van Voorst led the team with nine points. Jasmine Namminga had eight of the team’s 35 rebounds. Madison Naig scored seven and had five rebounds.

The Lady Dutch face off with Pella Christian Friday, Dec. 6, at home.
