PELLA, Iowa— Kelly Voorhis, Cardiac Services, was selected as October Shining Star by co-workers at Pella Regional Health Center.
Voorhis, resident of Pella, was nominated based on Attitude, Appearance, Commitment, Communication, Etiquette, Privacy Responsibilities, Safety, and Sense of Ownership.
Excerpts from her nomination:
“We appreciate having Kelly as part of our Cardiac Services team. Her experience with coaching and leading exercise classes has encouraged our Cardiac Rehab participants to work hard and have fun at the same time! Many appreciate the extra time she takes to listen to what is important to them. She always has something positive to say to patients and co-workers and cares about their entire well-being. She takes on challenges with energy and enthusiasm.”
Shining Star is a reward and recognition program at Pella Regional designed to acknowledge an employee each month that demonstrates outstanding standards of behavior and inspires others to do their best.
Voorhis will receive a $100 gift, a plaque, and will automatically be included in the Shining Star of the Year award.
