A plea hearing is scheduled for Dec. 5 in the case against Brian Charles Cooper, age 40, of New Virginia.

Cooper is charged with two counts of enticing a minor under the age of 16 for the purposes of sex and one count of disseminating and exhibiting obscene material to a minor. In complaints filed with the court, Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy reports that Cooper allegedly contacted females, ages 13 and 16, via social media and text before and around February 2019.

In his messages, Cooper is alleged to have offered the girls money for companionship, sent them nude photos of himself – including genitalia – and emojis depicting sexual acts. He was confronted by the father of one of the girls who identified his phone.

Cooper was identified and interviewed in his home by deputies in July 2019. Kious wrote in the complaint that Cooper said he was so high at the time, he could not remember talking to the minors, but if he had, he probably sent them photographs.
