Brodie sentenced

Michele Brodie pled guilty to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and a habitual offender crime. Brodie was arrested after the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Drug Task Force found 14 grams of meth in her home on Feb. 11.

She was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with a three-year mandatory minimum for the possession charge and 25 years for being a habitual offender. Judge Thomas Murphy also ordered her to pay a DARE surcharge, court costs, attorney fees, Marion County Jail fees, undergo a substance abuse evaluation, a mental health evaluation and submit a DNA sample to the state.
