The Marion County Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday to provide an ongoing grant to the Marion County Historical Society to cover the costs of insuring the eight buildings in the historical village.

Craig Agan sought the assistance on behalf of MCHS. The village is located in Marion County Park, and while the ground is insured through the County the structures are not. Auditor Jake Grandia told the supervisors that his research indicated it would be best for MCHS to be responsible for their own buildings. Benefits by doing this will be mutually beneficial for the County and MCHS.
