Pella Christian looks to keep rolling

The Pella Christian Eagle football team looks to go 3-0 in district play when they hit the road to take on Colfax-Mingo Friday night, Oct. 11.

“We feel like we have build some good momentum from the last two games and we are looking forward to Friday night vs Colfax-Mingo,” Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski said.

In the past two games, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 113-29. Woodward Academy fell 59-16 and Pleasantville fell 54-13.

Dan Jungling has amassed 1,150 total yards passing and rushing, as well as 14 touchdowns already this season. Jace Amelse is coming off of a 164-yard performance on the ground.

Colfax-Mingo is 2-4 on the season and has yet to win a district game. They are coming off a 49-14 loss to Interstate 35.

Pella Christian and Woodward-Granger are the only two teams in Class 1A, District 7, yet to lose a district game. Woodward-Granger plays Pleasantville Friday night.

“We are excited to be in the thick of the district championship race,” Kacmarynski continued. “We think we are playing the best football of our season right now so we are excited to be in district play.”

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
