The Knoxville Panthers’ district woes continued Friday night, as Grinnell defeated them 38-10 on the road.
Carter Bailey had a strong night on the ground, rushing for 146 yards on 12 carries and the Panthers’ only touchdown. Wyatt Darnell scored the extra point on that touchdown, as well as a 19-yard field goal.
The Panther defense struggled, as it gave up over 400 yards of offense to the 4-2 Tigers. Kieren Nichols threw for 62 yards and rushed for 60.
Ben Olson once again racked up the most tackles for the Knoxville defense, with 9.5. Logan Clark had 7.5 and Ian Crossett, five. Mike Hudson had an interception and Brady Pearson picked up a fumble recovery.
The 4-2 Panthers look to bounce back at Friday night’s homecoming game against 0-6 South Tama.
