Homecoming Week at Pella High School officially kicked off Monday morning with the coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen.

In front of their peers in the PHS Auditorium, clad in their best “Mathlete vs. Athlete” gear, Warren Page was crowned King and Caroline McMartin was crowned Queen.

“It’s going to be a good experience, not something that happens every day,” Page said. “I thought we all had a good chance of being crowned king. This is an honor.”

“I’m really excited,” McMartin added. “It’s a high honor.”

The two were ushered to the hallway, with the rest of their court, for photographs. The week includes a pep rally, powder puff game, more dress up days and of course, the varsity game Friday night against Knoxville.

“I was looking forward to this week,” Page added. He is eager to lead pep rallies, talk to the younger students in the district and get everyone behind the Dutch.

“Being able to show school spirit, get people involved,” McMartin said. “I’m really surprised and excited about it.”
