Knoxville football improves to 3-0

The Knoxville Panther varsity football team improved its record to 3-0, following a 24-10 win at Centerville Friday, Sept. 13.

Carter Bailey ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns – including a 54-yard dash – to lead the offense. He averaged over eight yards per carry against the Big Red.

Kieren Nichols had 73 yards on the ground and a 19-yard touchdown. All of Knoxville’s offense was on the ground, with Brady Pearson adding 40 yards and Keegan Cox with 27.

Ben Olson had a big night on defense, with 13 total tackles. Olson had one of three solo sacks on the night for the defense. Bode Cox and Blaise Hubler each had one as well.

Pearson had 8.5 tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception for the Panthers. Wyatt Darnell was perfect in point after attempts and had a field goal for Knoxville. His kickoffs sailed for 123 yards and his punts for 209.

The Panthers are back home Friday night to take on 2-1 Chariton.
