Drew Michael McGee, age 24 of Oskaloosa, has been charged with interference with official acts following an incident on Highway 92 in Marion County on Sept. 8.
Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a driver traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes in the 600 block of the highway. Deputies pulled the suspect vehicle over after it had moved into the correct lane.
The driver was identified as McGee. Deputies allege he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and the smell of alcohol on his breath. McGee had to use his car door to balance himself to get out of his vehicle, and he told officers he had around three beers, according to court documents.
McGee was inside the marked patrol car and allegedly refused to exit the vehicle. He was asked to submit to sobriety tests on scene and when taken to the Marion County Jail. He refused to take any of them, according to court documents.
He has posted bond and is scheduled to be in court Sept. 17. A criminal charge is merely an accusation and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
