Panther volleyball beats Chariton

The Knoxville Panther volleyball team is 8-0 on the season after defeating South Central Conference rival Chariton at home in three straight sets Tuesday night.

The Panthers won 25-5, 25-8 and 25-15. Amy Sullivan went 19 for 22 serving with seven aces. Lauren Micetich went 15 for 16 with three aces.

Marley McKay added another 19 assists to her career total, and had two aces serving. Katie Keitges had 12 kills and 11 digs and Maggie Wilkins was 14 of 14 serving with five aces and had 10 digs.

“I’m really proud of the girls’ focus,” Head Coach Mollie Keitges said. “We played a high level of volleyball from start to finish last night. It’s nice to get that first conference win under our belt.”

The Panthers will be at home, taking on another SCC foe, Albia, on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
