The Knoxville Panther boys’ cross country team finished third behind Pekin and Albia, second and first respectively, at the Albia meet Tuesday night.
Jordan Bacon and Seth Walraven finished ninth at tenth with times of 19:33 and 19:44 as Knoxville’s best two runners on the night. Trent Walraven and Kaden McGill finished 14th and 15th, with times of 20:01 and 20:02. Four other Panthers finished in the top 25, out of a field of 84, with Peter Picard at 19th, Max Purvis at 21st, Carson Irving at 23rd and Gavin Brown at 25th. Brown was followed closely by teammates Evan Schmidt and Joey Hembrook.
The rest of the Panther field was spread out among the finishers, in this order – Jonathan Watson, Andrew Jackson, Nash Thomas, John Buttell, Ethan Murra, Ethan Morgan, Gable Garcia, Drake Marvelli and Mason Hatch.
