Following interviews during a special meeting Monday night, the Knoxville City Council plans to appoint John Gotta to its open seat.
The vacancy was created by the resignation of Cal Stephens. Gotta’s appointment will be through the end of 2019, as the seat will be up for election with two others in November.
Gotta will be appointed at the council meeting on Monday, Aug. 19. The council meeting is open to the public and will begin at 6:15 p.m.
