Knoxville Police and Fire were called to Acura Home Care after noon Monday in regard to a choking patient.

Police Lt. Eric How tells the Tribune that responders performed CPR and the patient was flown to a Des Moines hospital.

There were two police cars, an ambulance and the fire chief’s vehicle at the home. When asked if that sort of response is unusual, How said, “Not when CPR is in progress.”

The patient was an unidentified male. It’s been a busy weekend for Knoxville’s emergency services, as between Friday and Sunday, there were 117 calls for service.
