Brown not looking past qualifying

Brian Brown proved to be the winner the last time the World of Outlaws were at Knoxville Raceway, but when it comes to the Knoxville Nationals, Saturday night’s A-Main is not at the front of his mind yet.

Brown, a weekly staple at the track, feels good about his chances of finding success during the 59th Nationals. Before he can make it to the championship race, he knows he has to qualify and he can’t look past that.

The car he will run at Nationals is the same one that won him the last Outlaws event.

“We had a really, really good car,” Brown said. “It’s been sitting a bit. We didn’t want to take a chance of damaging it.”

He will be part of the qualifying rounds on Thursday, Aug. 8.

Brown believes there are about 15 cars capable of winning the Nationals this year. He and his crew will go out and do their jobs and hope for the best.
