Knoxville baseball at 7-22


The Knoxville baseball team has a record of 7-22 as the team heads into the final stretch of the season.

The Panthers have scored 135 runs on 199 hits, and stolen 53 bases this season. Panther pitchers have allowed 254 hits while striking out 164.

Sophomore Mike Hudson and Junior Colton Jones tie for the team lead in batting, each with a .366 average and 34 hits. Close behind is Junior Ben Olson, with a .341 average, 31 hits and five home runs. Olson leads the team in RBI with 26. Junior Carter Bailey has two home runs of his own.

Senior Kaleb Streigle is 3-3 on the mound with 53 strikeouts. Opponents are batting a mere .198 against Streigle.

Bailey is also getting it done on the mound, with a 2-2 record and 40 strikeouts. Opponents are batting .174 against Bailey.

The Panthers host Gilbert tonight (July 2).
