July is typically a slow month for schools, and Pleasantville is no exception. However, the halls of the buildings are filled with an aroma of fresh paint and new carpet.
The elementary school is getting new tile as well as carpet, with the gym floor being refinished. Meanwhile, at the high school, painting is being done as well as carpet and tile.
The school board will meet July 9, with a simple agenda of approving bids for dairy and bread, and a few more 28E agreements with Knoxville. At the board meeting, financing options for the stadium project will be presented. If the board chooses to go forward with the project, Superintendent Tony Aylsworth would like to do a community engagement tour to collect feedback and suggestions from the community.
