Pleasantville Trojan freshman softball player Amber McKinney is making her presence felt in the Pride of Iowa Conference.
Amber leads the conference in hits with 29, in doubles with 10 and is tied for first in RBI with 21. Her batting average is .518 thus far into the Trojans’ 10-8 season.
Amber is not the only hitter on the team. Taylor Foley, Makenzie McGriff and Sydnee McKinney each have two home runs. This places them into a three-way tie for second place in the conference.
Amber Sowers has 28 hits on the season as well, which places her behind Amber McKinney for the lead in the conference.
On the mound, Abby DeJoode has racked up 44 of the team’s 77 strikeouts.
The team is coming off a big 15-3 win over Madrid. The Trojans will host East Union Monday before traveling to Southeast Warren on Tuesday.
